Sitting there crying as my mum walks in and lays her hand on my shoulder. I look up into her bright blue eyes shrugging her hand off. Handing me a pamphlet she says,"Be in the car in ten minutes." And before I could say anything, she was gone. Looking down at the pamphlet in my hands that had the cutest puppy on the cover with the words DOG POUND in bright red letters. It hit me then that my mother wanted me to get a new puppy, but alls I could think about was Shotzie and how I wanted him back–not some crummy dog off the street. Shotzie had runaway three days ago. I had two minutes to be in the car. I didn’t want to go but I didn’t want to argue. So I hopped in the back of the truck tapping the window. The truck revved and came to life and speed down the street. I really didn’t want a new dog but I was willing to give it a shot. We pulled into the parking lot and got out all I heard were dogs barking. I walked in and saw a bunch of dogs. All kinds of dogs big and small. schnazteirs , german sheperds, chiwawahas , bloodhounds, dobermens, hounddogs, and mutts. I walked up and down many times until in the very back there was a pitt about the size of my hand wagging its tail at me. The biggest smile spread across my face and I picked up the poor little baby pitt and it licked my face like it was an ice cream cone. I brought it to my mum and smiled. She looked a bit nervous and said, "Are you sure this is the one you want?" with the biggest smile on my face I said, “Yes, mum!" All the way home, I held the dog like a new stuff animal. The dog looked up as I kissed its nose. I rubbed its head, its tongue fell out, and I laughed the whole way home.
